Tiger Beer — Beer brand’s fund supports street food hawkers
Millions trying to get a foothold in the emerging global middle class are looking for help. Can you provide? One powerful way – supercharge their entrepreneurial aspirations. And remember, think local context..
September 2016 saw Tiger Beer launch the Tiger Street Food Support Fund, offering financial assistance to new street food hawkers entering the hawker centers or coffee shops in Singapore. New hawkers can apply for up to SGD 10,000 (USD 7,190) in funding, which can be used to offset any business costs, except for rent. Part of a wider initiative to nurture street food in Singapore, the fund was partly subsidized by a previous campaign that saw Tiger Beer pledge to reinvest 20 cents into its street food movement for every six-can pack purchase.
