ronaldo fraga — Fashion designer’s show features transgender models
One powerful way to live and breathe this truth? Actions speak louder than words. So hire, showcase and celebrate people who have traditionally been targets of prejudice.
In October 2016, Ronaldo Fraga hired 28 transgender models to wear his new collection on the runway at São Paulo Fashion Week. The Brazilian fashion designer cast a range of professional models as well as non-professionals, including teachers and hairdressers. The show began with a recording stating: ‘the body imprisons and the clothes release being’. The designer said he wanted to raise awareness of transphobia in Brazil.
