door step school  — Slum streets named after hard-working schoolkids

Q2 2016 saw Mumbai’s Door Step School launch a campaign encouraging kids to study hard and stay in school. The school’s teachers identified the children with the most promise, and commissioned street signs featuring their names. Various streets in Mumbai’s slums were named after bright children, with a naming ceremony celebrating their achievements. The whole slum community was invited to the ceremony, along with celebrities such as TV stars and politicians.
