independent media — South African newspaper launches anti-racism campaign
February 2016 saw the roll-out of Independent Media’s anti-racism campaign #RacismStopsWithMe in South Africa. Announced to coincide with the anniversary of Nelson Mandela’s release from prison, the country’s leading print publication’s campaign provides a platform for readers, commercial partners, advertisers, investors, and staff, to address issues of prejudice. The campaign includes internships coaching young journalists in writing articles, producing graphics and videos, and interactive storytelling on the subject of race and racism.
