November 10 sees our Trend Event series make its debut in Chicago, a city brimming with creativity and innovation. To celebrate our first major foray in the Windy City, we've teamed up with 826CHI - a local nonprofit that specializes in creative writing tutoring and workshops for Chicago students aged 6-18. Here, Brandon Mitchell - our Client Services & Events Coordinator - explains why we felt the partnership was a perfect match.

At TrendWatching, in a way we’re storytellers; collecting insights and innovation examples from over 3,000 individuals in over 100 countries and scouring various news and media sources to create a narrative explaining how and why consumers change and behave in the ways that they do. Though our insights inform powerful business solutions, we try to present them in a way that is both fun and accessible.

As we find storytelling to be so important, we have partnered with a writing and tutoring nonprofit, 826CHI, for our November 10th Trend Event in Chicago. We fully support the charity’s mission, which is to inspire young students in the city of Chicago to change the world one story at a time.

You can find out more about their exciting work and initiatives on their website, but here is their mission statement as a brief overview:

“826CHI is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting students ages 6 to 18 with their creative and expository writing skills, and to helping teachers inspire their students to write.

Our services are structured around the understanding that great leaps in learning can happen with one-on-one attention, and that strong writing skills are fundamental to future success.

With this in mind, we provide after-school tutoring, weekend workshops, in-schools tutoring, help for English language learners, and assistance with student publications. All of our programs are challenging and enjoyable, and ultimately strengthen each student’s power to express ideas effectively, creatively, confidently, and in their individual voice.”

Make sure to join us on November 10th as we support 826CHI and their mission to empower the next generation of writers, visionaries, and business leaders.
